- ➤ Ace Hardware stores sell frozen pies that taste homemade for $20 and have built a cult following among local customers. Sales associate Ed Hansen said the pies, available in many flavors at the Sparks store, drive repeat visits—customers often pick one up alongside their hardware needs. Reno Gazette-Journal

- ➤ Students at Smith Valley Schools are learning to prepare turkeys for Thanksgiving by catching, weighing, tagging, and processing the birds — from scalding to plucking — as part of a hands-on business program where 64 turkeys are frozen for sale to local families, and students may earn up to 60% of the profit.
