- ➤ A disruptive student led to Alice Smith Elementary being placed on a secured campus on Friday—school police and staff restricted movement and removed the student, and security was lifted later with no injuries reported. KTVN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Regional Transportation Commission will offer free rides on Tuesday for Veterans Day. Riders can plan to use this service to honor veterans. KTVN
- ➤ Airlines canceled over 1,000 flights nationwide Friday because air traffic controllers were unpaid amid the long government shutdown—9% of Reno flights were canceled—and more cuts will come if the shutdown continues. The FAA will raise cancellations to 10% by November 14 as local officials work to support federal workers. KTVN
