Good morning, Sparks.

A fundraiser was held at Greater Nevada Field on Friday for the Special Olympics of Nevada.

NV Energy has restored power in all areas previously under evacuation due to the Davis Fire, with 800 customers still awaiting reconnection.

The Washoe County DA ruled Sparks Police's nonfatal shooting of Ginger Krivac, in what was deemed an attempted 'suicide by cop' case in December 2020, as justified, resulting in Krivac's probation for resisting arrest with a dangerous weapon.

Officials, including Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, reported at a community meeting that the Davis Fire is 76% contained and affected residents may soon return home, while power restoration efforts continue.

Waste Management has installed two 14-yard bins for Davis Fire evacuees to dispose of household waste and spoiled food.

The Davis Fire in Nevada is 56% contained at 5,824 acres, with efforts focusing on mopping up hotspots and controlled burns to eliminate remaining fire fuel.
