- ➤ On Thursday, September 18th, locals can enjoy a free movie night at El Rancho Drive-In located at 555 El Rancho Drive between Oddie Blvd and Prater Way—gates open at 6:00 and films start at 8:00 with music, bounce houses, and kid-friendly activities available while parking remains first-come, first-served due to limited capacity. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A memorial service was held Tuesday for Reno Police Sergeant Ernest Kazmar—who began his career in 2009 and served in the Family Crimes Unit and the Robbery Homicide Unit—with local fire departments from Reno and Sparks assisting the tribute. KTVN
- ➤ The RTC, City of Sparks and NDOT have started the second phase of the Sparks Boulevard Project—an $86 million effort to expand roadway capacity from I-80 westbound ramps to Baring Boulevard with additional work near Shadow Lane. Drivers should expect lane and shoulder closures as construction proceeds Monday through Friday, with the project set to finish by mid-2027. News4
- ➤ Registrar Andrew McDonald told the Washoe County Commission that the county will work on improving access to vote centers next year—after studying the population spread—while final plans are being developed. KTVN

- ➤ Nevadans can now get the updated COVID vaccine without a prescription according to a statement from Governor Joe Lombardo's office—making it easier for residents to get immunizations at local retail pharmacies. KTVN
