CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Sparks man, David Eugene Abara, was convicted for fatally stabbing 35-year-old Randal Lowery at Fisherman’s Park in 2023 and received a life sentence plus an extra 8—20 years after the incident on June 7 escalated during an argument. KTVN
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Local small and mid-sized food and farm businesses in Nevada will lose $3M in USDA support when the Southwest Regional Food Business Center winds down most operations in September—three years before the planned end date. - ➤ Health officials warn consumers not to eat recalled eggs from Country Eggs, LLC as a Salmonella outbreak has sickened 95 people across 14 states, including three in Nevada — 18 have been hospitalized.
