- ➤ The third annual Great Basin Scottish Highland Games will return to Sparks on September 13 and 14 at Gandolfo Arena—located on 2200 Loop Road—for a weekend of heavy athletics, cultural performances and vendor displays that benefit a local high school. KTVN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Monday the Sparks Redevelopment Agency approved a $10-million purchase of a 7.8-acre lot near the Sparks Marina for a new City Hall campus to replace aging facilities and crowded offices. Officials said the move—funded by a dedicated redevelopment fund—will improve civic services, protect key land from private use, and boost local businesses. KTVN
- ➤ The Nevada DMV announced that all offices will remain closed until further notice due to a network outage that began on August 24—cancelled appointments will be accepted as walk-ins for two weeks and any fees incurred will be waived when the DMV reopens. News4

- ➤ Seniors in Washoe County will attend Senior Fest 2025 at Reno Town Mall on Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., where they can get free health screenings, high-dose senior flu shots, and vaccinations including COVID, pneumonia, RSV and shingles — and receive details on Medicare Advantage, VA benefits and local services.
