ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Rancho Fire north of Cold Springs is 25% contained as fire crews secure lines and mop up hotspots while investigators link the blaze to a person grinding metal — forward progress has stopped and evacuations were lifted Friday. KTVN
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On August 16 at 3:57 a.m., deputies responded to reports of gunfire on Sun Valley Boulevard and found an adult man with gunshot wounds who was quickly taken to a local hospital—detectives are still investigating with no immediate threat to the public. FOX Reno
- ➤ At 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sparks Police, Sparks Fire, and REMSA responded to a car crash on Spanish Springs Road near Vintage Hills Parkway where a vehicle hit a tree, caught fire, and injured one adult and two minors — police suspect intoxication played a role — and officials are investigating the incident. - ➤ The Sparks Police Department arrested three people and issued six tickets in a retail theft operation in partnership with Walmart and Kohl's—recovering about $1,034 in stolen merchandise. KTVN
- ➤ The Washoe County Sheriff's Office investigated a shooting on Sun Valley Boulevard early Saturday morning—deputies responded to reports of shots fired just before 4 a.m., found a man with apparent gunshot wounds who was taken to a hospital, and his condition remains unknown as detectives continue their investigation.
