A mud and rock slide has closed U.S. Highway 395 north of Red Rock Road, and CHP has not given a reopening time while Caltrans crews work to clear the roadway — motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

Police have released the names of the victims and the suspect in the deadly GSR shooting—officials will update the community as more details become available.

Yesterday, community members attended an interfaith candlelight vigil to honor victims of the GSR shooting — police confirmed that the shooter has been identified.

A new state law lets construction crews working on commercial and infrastructure projects start at 5 a.m. during summer months — from April 1 to Sept 30 — to protect workers from dangerous heat.

The rule also requires that work be conducted at least 300 feet from homes and is supported by industry groups.
