ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A mud and rock slide has closed U.S. Highway 395 north of Red Rock Road, and CHP has not given a reopening time while Caltrans crews work to clear the roadway — motorists are advised to take alternate routes. News4
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police have released the names of the victims and the suspect in the deadly GSR shooting—officials will update the community as more details become available. KTVN
- ➤ Yesterday, community members attended an interfaith candlelight vigil to honor victims of the GSR shooting — police confirmed that the shooter has been identified. KTVN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A new state law lets construction crews working on commercial and infrastructure projects start at 5 a.m. during summer months — from April 1 to Sept 30 — to protect workers from dangerous heat. The rule also requires that work be conducted at least 300 feet from homes and is supported by industry groups. Reno Gazette-Journal
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Community Health Alliance will launch mobile dental clinics in August to provide dental services to patients 20 years old and younger in Sparks; the new program is set to expand access to care for local families. KTVN
