Hot August Nights is set to run from August 1 through August 10 and will bring car shows, drag races, and a grand finale parade to northern Nevada.

The events are planned at venues such as Virginia City + Sparks + Reno, with the finale parade and awards scheduled on August 10 at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

A motorcyclist was arrested Tuesday morning near I-80 and USA Parkway after fleeing police and crashing when he failed to navigate a curve (State Route 439) before being taken to the hospital and booked into jail.

State director Christopher Sewell said DETR continues to monitor performance closely to resolve any issues.
