CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Around 8:15 p.m. on June 14th, Sparks police responded to a fight at Glendale Avenue and 18th Street that left one victim stabbed and two treated before arresting three suspects, including 29-year-old Travis Walters — who fled before being caught. KTVN

- ➤ Wooster graduates celebrated at their commencement ceremony — held at Lawlor Events Center — on June 14. Reno Gazette-Journal
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The University of Nevada, Reno welcomes young students as KIDS University summer camps begin this month. Today, weather officials set a lake wind advisory from 1 PM to 10 PM and a Red Flag Warning until 11 PM—residents are urged to postpone boating and outdoor activities to avoid risks from strong winds and low humidity. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sparks residents entered a giveaway to receive one of 300 free trees from the City of Sparks as part of its TreeMendous Sparks program. The National Weather Service in Reno issued a lake wind advisory from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and a Red Flag Warning from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. for parts of western Nevada — urging boaters and outdoor enthusiasts to postpone activities until conditions improve. - ➤ Beginning June 14, the City of Sparks and its contractor Gerhardt and Berry Construction will close the intersection of McCarran Boulevard and Prater Way on six weekends to expand an existing 10 inch sewer line to 18 inches and build a new manhole structure to ease a flow restriction. The intersection will remain open on weekdays and during the July 4 holiday weekend—detours are in place. City of Sparks
