Around 8:15 p.m. on June 14th, Sparks police responded to a fight at Glendale Avenue and 18th Street that left one victim stabbed and two treated before arresting three suspects, including 29-year-old Travis Walters — who fled before being caught.

Beginning June 14, the City of Sparks and its contractor Gerhardt and Berry Construction will close the intersection of McCarran Boulevard and Prater Way on six weekends to expand an existing 10 inch sewer line to 18 inches and build a new manhole structure to ease a flow restriction. The intersection will remain open on weekdays and during the July 4 holiday weekend—detours are in place.
