- ➤ Reno-Tahoe International Airport will see six seasonal flights return from airlines including Sun Country, United, Southwest, Delta and JetBlue starting May 22 and running through September. The airport recorded 4.8 million passengers in 2024—and it may adjust flight dates based on future bookings—if demand changes. Reno Gazette-Journal
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Sparks Police are seeking help to find a man who robbed the Alamo Truck Stop and Casino early Tuesday morning just before 4:15 a.m. at East Greg Street—he stole about $15 in items and threatened an employee. KTVN
- ➤ Sparks Police are asking for help to find two people who took a car from the parking lot of Around the Corner Liquor and Smoke Shop on McCarran Blvd. just after 10:30 p.m. on May 14. KTVN
- ➤ U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 50-year-old Jose Andino-Dominguez in Reno after he was convicted of burglary, multiple thefts, assault and battery, and firearm possession (having been removed twice), and ICE will deport him as soon as possible. KTVN
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Seven months after the Davis Fire (which ravaged over 5,000 acres) left many locals struggling with rebuilding, Nevada homeowners are facing higher insurance rates and canceled policies as wildfires become more frequent. The Nevada Division of Insurance reported a 21% rise in home insurance rates since 2018 and Assemblymember Dickman is urging lawmakers to establish a FAIR Plan (like those in 34 states) to help protect high-risk homeowners.
