- ➤ Washoe County School District now recommends a one-year $2M i-Ready extension to evaluate the program's effectiveness, replacing the earlier three-year, $6M proposal. - ➤ NDOT reminded drivers today to allow extra travel time, inspect tires, and pack emergency supplies as summer travel increases on rural roads, where fatal crashes are 62% more likely than on urban routes; they advise checking road conditions (via 511 or NVRoads.com) for updates. KTVN
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Leapfrog Group report released May 11 shows Northern Nevada hospitals earned safety grades this spring. Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks scored B, while other local facilities received A grades and Carson Tahoe Regional earned a C; Nevada ranked 14th nationally for A ratings + scores varied by category.
