- ➤ Volunteers will join the Great Community Cleanup on Saturday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at over 25 sites across Reno, Sparks + Sun Valley to remove litter, debris, and invasive weeds; those with trucks are especially needed to haul away material. KTVN
- ➤ The Wingfield Springs Preservation Group met Tuesday night, Apr. 28 to listen to residents' concerns over a proposal for Red Hawk Golf Course. The meeting gathered local feedback ahead of any proposed changes. KTVN

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ At Tuesday's Washoe County Commissioners meeting, county leaders and UNR announced a new partnership that transfers a mobile health vehicle to boost StreetReach services for the homeless. - ➤ County leaders and University officials announced Tuesday that Washoe County has transferred a mobile health clinic to the StreetReach program — expected to expand care for the homeless. UNR nursing and public health students will begin training with the expanded services in September. News4
- ➤ Northern Nevada Public Health is offering free forever chemicals testing for nearly 9,000 local well owners, with home visits scheduled to start next month so residents can learn if their water has PFAS; officials say the service is strictly informational (no one will require a switch to municipal water).
