- ➤ The Washoe County Sheriff's Office will host its Guns & Hoses Golf Tournament on Monday & compete in a friendly matchup with Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue in Sparks. KTVN
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Heavenly is reopening this weekend — operating from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday — after recent storms brought snowfall that affected service. KTVN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ TMCC will host youth soccer camps at its Soccer Field on July 6 to 10 and July 13 to 17. Camps include Mighty Lizards (ages 6 to 14) with half day and full day sessions and Mini Lizards (ages 4 to 5) focused on fundamentals, with campers receiving a free T-shirt. KTVN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford reached a settlement with MV Realty that voids 700+ Homeowner Benefit Agreements and ends deceptive trade practices after an investigation that began in Sept. 2025. The settlement stops collection efforts and nullifies long-term, 40+ year listing commitments that hindered homeowners from selling or refinancing. KTVN
- ➤ RTC is repaving Sixth Street and its sidewalk between West Street and Arlington, and the road remains closed while crews work on the improvements. The project was reported on Apr. 17 and may affect local travel until it is completed. KTVN
- ➤ Nevadans must follow state law that allows recreational marijuana consumption but prohibits transporting it across state lines and smoking it in moving vehicles, while TSA policies require referral to law enforcement if marijuana is discovered + guidelines remain in place ahead of 4/20. - ➤ A permit request was filed for a housing project that will include over 300 townhomes on North Hills Boulevard in the north valleys + the proposal is set for review by local officials who will decide on next steps soon +. KTVN
