- ➤ Local dispatchers in Sparks are being celebrated this week as part of a nationwide dedication that honors their vital role in emergency response and community safety. Local agencies highlight their service with events that recognize their hard work. KTVN
- ➤ As temperatures rise, the Robert and Norma Fink Sun Valley Pool will open on Thursday, June 11 as the district hires seasonal lifeguards and cashiers from applicants at least 15 years old; training is provided for new lifeguards and applications are available online or at 5000 Sun Valley Blvd. KTVN

- ➤ Washoe County School District trustees approved a change allowing new schools to install swings along with other play equipment to expand playground options for students. The decision aims to improve outdoor facilities at upcoming school sites. KTVN
