- ➤ Developers behind Reno Public Market are transforming the long-vacant Lowe’s building on Oddie Boulevard into the Oddie District, which will open in June with creative workspaces for art, engineering and trades + unique attractions like an outdoor art park to enliven the neighborhood. KTVN
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Forest Service will continue prescribed burns in Dog Valley west of Reno for two weeks. NNPH said that despite smoke from Tuesday and Wednesday, moderate air quality should return soon, though areas near burns may see unhealthy air briefly + locals note the burns help prevent wildfires. - ➤ Warmer temperatures and a light snowpack have brought bears out of hibernation early in northern Nevada, and NDOW says residents in areas where bears are active should secure trash as bears search for food. Wildlife officials advise keeping a safe distance if a bear is encountered. FOX Reno

- ➤ RTC is installing drainage infrastructure along Sparks Boulevard that may reduce lanes— work continues through Friday. KTVN
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Golfers in Sparks will soon tee off on the new nine-hole executive course at Wildcreek Golf Course as part of a $16 million renovation nearly finishing; tee times become available online tomorrow. A championship course for advanced players is set to open in July. News4
- ➤ Three Tahoe area ski resorts remain open with spring lift ticket deals. Mt. Rose offers tickets from April 9-12 and April 17-19, Palisades is set to close at the end of April, and Kirkwood will operate until April 19 while Mammoth Mountain stays open through Memorial Day. Reno Gazette-Journal
