- ➤ Sparks Police arrested Alejandro Ayala this afternoon near North McCarran Boulevard after officers responded at 3:00 p.m. to a call reporting that a woman was hit in the head with a metal chain and nearly strangled—he faces charges of domestic battery, domestic battery by strangulation, battery with a deadly weapon, obstructing justice and property damage. - ➤ Waste Management will offer free dump days at the Lockwood Landfill from April 17-19 and April 21-26 in celebration of Earth Day. Residents can drop off bulky items while appliances with coolant, electronics, construction debris, hazardous waste, engines + transmissions will not be accepted. News4
