- ➤ Sparks Police will host a Coffee with a Cop event—an informal meeting where residents can discuss concerns about retail theft, homelessness and quality of life—in the Glory Cloud at 10 Greg Street unit #122 on April 9 from 8 to 11 a.m. KTVN
- ➤ Catholic Charities is asking for gently used prom attire, shoes, and accessories from Sparks residents to help local teens dress up for proms in April and May — donations are accepted at Super Thrift and at the 4th Street donation dock. KTVN
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The City installed a new permanent public art piece by artist Jim Gallucci on Victorian Avenue, placing it on a large pedestal once used for a temporary sculpture. The work was completed from March 26 to 28 and was funded by a National Endowment for the Arts grant and city funds after a national call for artists and community input. City of Sparks

- ➤ Mellow Fellow is preparing for Aceball season and will open a ghost kitchen as the owner outlined new changes. A winter weather advisory is in effect today above 5500 feet in the Reno-Carson City-Minden area — snow is expected to accumulate up to 3 inches with gusts reaching 50 mph that may slow local commutes. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today the City of Sparks announced plans to help residents whose homes were damaged in a shooting last year by providing repair assistance, medical care, security upgrades, and mental health services. A winter weather advisory above 5500 feet warns of up to 3 inches of snow and gusty winds until 11 p.m. PDT—road conditions may be slippery. KTVN
