- ➤ A local labor group has renamed its annual Cesar Chavez Celebration to the Solidarity Celebration Dinner — a change made to respect community concerns after abuse allegations surfaced. The dinner is set for tonight at Grand Sierra Resort. Reno Gazette-Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents attended a public meeting at Lemmon Valley Elementary School on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to review the reduced-scale Lemmon Valley Logistics Park proposed by Lansing-Arcus LLC — which would include warehouses and limited homes — amid local concerns over traffic and flooding near Swan Lake. - ➤ A study is underway to see if Sparks Fire Department could merge with Reno and Truckee Meadows by consolidating operations into one agency, led by Emergent Global Solutions. Results are due in December after public surveys help county and city leaders decide on the merger. FOX Reno
