CRIME NEWS

  • A wrong-way driver in a stolen blue Subaru caused a multi-vehicle crash on I580 near Glendale Avenue on March 14 that injured drivers and led to the arrest of Kody Dempsey—he got out of his car and tried to steal another as investigators cleared the crash scene.  FOX Reno

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Strong winds tore through town yesterday, toppling trees and damaging property. Makayla Hardy interviewed local residents who shared how they managed the high winds — urging safety and preparedness.  KTVN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nevada DMV officials say that after May 7 residents must show either a Real ID driver’s license marked with a gold circle or a valid passport to board domestic flights. Residents who need a Real ID can visit DMV offices in Carson City+Henderson+Las Vegas+Reno and must bring proof of identity, a Social Security document and two proofs of residence.  Reno Gazette-Journal
  • NDOT will hold a public feedback session for the 395 construction on April 1 at O’Brien Middle School and online via its website — local residents will be able to share their input on the plans.  KTVN

SPORTS NEWS

  • Sports fans in Sparks know March Madness starts this week as the NCAA Men's Tournament begins Thursday at 9:00 a.m. on local networks—CBS, TBS, TNT and TruTV—while the Final Four and Championship games air exclusively on CBS on April 5th and April 7th.  KTVN
