Good morning, Sparks.

Rise (the incoming provider) will take over the Safe Camp and Cares Campus Resource Center contract from Karma Box on July 1 in Sparks, with community leaders expecting the change to improve local support.

Local fire officials are conducting prescribed burns on Pioneer Trail to clear underbrush and reduce wildfire risks; residents are informed that any smoke seen is part of the routine procedure and does not need to be reported.

Residents are advised to inspect their sprinklers for leaks or breaks and water only in the morning on scheduled watering days + this practice helps conserve water and prevent damage.

Local leaders kept the homelessness advisory board intact by voting 4-0 on Monday, with members from Reno, Sparks + Washoe County.

The board considered adding a member with firsthand experience to help guide future support efforts.
