- ➤ The Washoe County Sheriff's Office volunteer team assisted Nevada County in a Castle Peak avalanche rescue on Thursday, Feb. 19 by using ski gear and a snow cat to recover six injured after 15 people were caught in the incident — they will continue supporting the search as conditions remain dangerous.
