- ➤ A winter storm produced delays and cancellations at Reno-Tahoe International Airport yesterday, affecting flights from United, Delta, Southwest and Alaska. Airport crews cleared snow from runways + passengers were advised to check flight statuses with their airlines. Reno Gazette-Journal

- ➤ A new snow removal app - described as Uber for snow removal - launched Feb. 17 in Sparks. It will help residents quickly request local snow removal services during winter storms. KTVN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Washoe County School District announced Tuesday that due to a Feb. 17 snow day, schools (except Incline Village) will end on Monday, June 8 instead of June 5. Officials warn that further weather delays may affect the schedule as primary election day approaches. Reno Gazette-Journal
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Heavy snow has kept I-80 closed over Donner Summit today; Mt Rose Hwy and SR 88 are also closed with winds of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40-50 mph, so drivers should carry chains and check updated road conditions. KTVN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City crews in Sparks and Reno are clearing roads today during a winter storm; Sparks crews started at 2:30 a.m. and will work until 10:30 p.m. while Reno crews operate nonstop, and residents are urged to give vehicles plenty of space. KTVN
- ➤ NDOT used its avalanche control system to lower 15 feet of snow at Mt. Rose Highway summit Tuesday, clearing the road. The agency urged drivers to plan for chain controls in higher areas (a winter storm warning remains in effect). KTVN
- ➤ NDOT lost $12.6 million in federal funds as a budget bill cut its NEVI allocation, leaving about $25.3 million for EV charging projects along major highways. The agency plans to release its first charging contracts later this year—targeting rural sections from Las Vegas to Reno. Reno Gazette-Journal

- ➤ Northern Nevada Public Health is reporting a rise in whooping cough and sent mass notification letters to two Washoe County schools including one where a case was noted at Galena High School.
