➤ Starsound has launched sponsorship applications for the 2026 cycle—its first in 50 years—to support local organizations. The application window is open now and will close on March 31. KTVN

CULTURE NEWS

➤ In Sparks, comedian Eric Schwartz will perform at the Celebrity Showroom at Nugget Casino Resort on Feb. 6, and Magique’s magic show will run on Feb. 7, while Sparks Boulevard upgrades cause round-the-clock lane closures — continuing through mid-March. Reno Gazette-Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

➤ News Literacy Week is underway in Northern Nevada, offering free screenings and panel discussions to help locals judge news and misinformation. A free documentary screening Tuesday, Feb. 3 at the Wells Fargo Auditorium at UNR is one event among several this week. Reno Gazette-Journal
