  • Catholic Charities is temporarily closing its St. Vincent's Food Pantry on Fourth Street this week — community members should seek alternative food assistance until further notice.  KTVN
  • Last Saturday, local nonprofits and the Walmart Heart program hosted Davey's Day to honor Davey who has Down syndrome—featuring a $500 shopping spree and a surprise movie screening of Captain America: Civil War at the national bowling stadium.  KTVN
  • Reno Ice held a party on Sunday at its South Reno rink to mark its five-year anniversary, as local hockey players and families gathered to celebrate the growing community of the sport.  KTVN

  • Sage Ridge School invited parents to a workshop on stress and anxiety management to help support student well-being.  KTVN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Thursday, the District Board of Health approved a modernized EMS contract with REMSA Health in Washoe County to boost patient care + transparency. The agreement includes five-year reviews and annual performance assessments to maintain a stable, accountable service.  News4
  • Sparks Boulevard will have one lane each direction between Baring Boulevard and Prater Way starting today, so drivers should allow extra travel time for roadwork.  KTVN
