- ➤ Raley's Food for Families program marked its 40th anniversary on Jan. 14 and celebrated decades of service and food support to local families (Raley's highlighted the milestone at its community event). KTVN
- ➤ Councilman Donald Abbott invites community members to join the 6th Annual Valentine Cards for Seniors project to deliver 3,500 handmade cards to assisted living & senior centers. Meals on Wheels cards are due by 5 p.m. on Feb. 1 and others by 7 p.m. on Feb. 4 at designated drop-offs. KTVN

- ➤ Adam Mayberry (a single father and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District employee) was elected Washoe County School Board president at Tuesday’s meeting on Jan. 14, and he is seeking the Sparks Ward 4 city council seat, which would require him to resign from the board if he wins. - ➤ Students at Debbie Smith CTE Academy celebrated the inaugural Debbie Smith day on Jan. 14 (they wrote words that capture her values) to honor the school's namesake. KTVN
